Pepe (ペペ) is a sixteen-year-old orphan from the Grand Valley orphanage. He was shipped out to Goldy Pond to become prey for the Poachers to hunt. He was a member of the Goldy Pond Resistance who was in charge of the provisions in Goldy Pond.

History[]

Pepe was born on February 19, 2029 and raised at Grand Valley orphanage, growing up alongside several other children. At some point, he and his sister were shipped out and sent to Goldy Pond to become prey for the Poachers to hunt.

Appearance[]

Pepe has dark skin, yellow eyes and dark reddish-brown dreadlocks with magenta streaks kept up in a ponytail. He has a circular magenta-colored scar around his left eye. He wore a plain white button-up shirt with long sleeves that he often rolled up to his elbows and black pants along with brown boots. In 2047, Pepe's hair has became significantly longer, though he still wears it in a ponytail. His Grand Valley identification number, "PX 363-076", is tattooed across his upper chest.

Personality[]

Pepe is hardworking, resourceful and confident. Like all the other kids in Goldy Pond, he cares deeply for his comrades and hates to see them injured.

Upon arriving in the Human World, Pepe is seen to be visibly worried and shocked about Emma's disappearance. Pepe, along with the other children, agrees to search for Emma so they can reunite with her again.[4] Over the next two years spent in the Human World, Pepe began attending school. During spring 2049, he finally reunites with Emma again and cries tears of joy, even though she lost her memories.[5] In the special epilogue chapter, Dreams Come True, Pepe has become a chef.[6]

Skills and Abilities[]

Culinary Skills[]

Pepe is very skilled at cooking.

Relationships[]

Goldy Pond Resistance members[]

Pepe was shown to be on good terms with them despite how he only joined not long ago, implying how he managed to befriend and bond with them easily and faced no issue working with his team members.

Lucas[]

Like the rest of the orphans, Pepe greatly respects Lucas as their leader and father figure, and is willing to have Lucas leave him and the rest of the injured behind if it means he gets to survive.

Emma[]

Emma and Pepe do not interact much during their time in Goldy Pond. Nevertheless, the two bared no ill intentions towards each other and managed to get along easily, as Pepe was optimistic towards Emma when she first joined the team.
